Shirley Millett - Obituary

hirley Marie Millett, “MiMi”, age 87, a 50-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Falls Church, VA, died Saturday, August 24 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Annapolis. Born on April 25, 1926 in West Springfield, MA to the late George L. and Sadie Prinisol Brezina, Shirley operated a child care center at her residence in Edgewater for many years. She was a former member of Parkwood United Methodist Church and a current member of Mayo United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the extended family she met through her child care, all who called her, “MiMi”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McLellon Millett and her brother, Vince Brezina. She is survived by three sons, Robert (Dorothy) Millett of Severna Park, David (Denise) and Allen (Caroline) Millett of Edgewater; a daughter, Suzette (Jim) Walls of Howard Co.; a brother, George “Sonny” Brezina of Edgewater, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Shirley’s Life Celebration from 10am until her funeral service begins at 11am on Wednesday, August 28 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
