Shirley Ann Nebel - Obituary

hirley Ann Nebel, 82, a three-year resident of Chesapeake Beach and previously of Lusby, MD, passed away from Metastatic Melanoma of the brain on December 9, 2017, at the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood, MD. Shirley was born on December 5, 1935, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to the late George Swaniger and Martha Knisley- Swaniger. She pursued a career in nursing. Her interests included reading, playing Bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, George Nebel. She is survived by her two daughters; Cheryl McAfee and her husband, Bill of Chesapeake Beach, MD and Beth Lancy of Annapolis, MD, her siblings; Don Swaniger and wife Sue of Waldorf and Sandy Swaniger-McNeely of Mechanicsville, MD, her grandchildren, Jason Edney, Anna Arcidiacono and Kaleigh Schaal. Also survived by five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews On Saturday, December 16, 2017, the family will gather from 12:30 to 1:30 for a time of remembrance and invite friends and colleagues to come help celebrate her life at 2 pm at the Mariners Point Community Clubhouse, 180 Georgetown Rd. , Annapolis, MD.
