hirley Ann Reilly, age 75, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 23, at her home in Friendship, MD. Shirley lived in the state of Maryland for 50 years before moving to Pawley’s Island, SC where she lived for approximately 10 years before returning home to Maryland where she remained until her death. Born on March 15, 1949 in Montgomery County Maryland, Shirley was a high school graduate with a cosmetology degree. During her years in Maryland, she was a cosmetologist, owning her own business for approximately 15 years, before retiring. She was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Owings, MD and was a Stephen’s Minister. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening and took great pleasure in spending time with her four grandchildren. Shirley is survived by the love of her life, William Reilly, III, to whom she was married for 60 years; her daughters, Gina (Leo) Ritter of Sunderland, MD and Angela (Kevin) Mattero of Deale, MD; her grandchildren, Brittany (Emanuel) Stoltzfus of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Amanda (Christopher) Thompson of St. Leonard, MD, Alyssa (Tyler) Welch of West River, MD and Dominic Mattero of Friendship, MD. She was also blessed to have four great-grandchildren, Arya, Adelynn, Payton, and Chase, as well as a fifth great-grandchild on the way. Shirley was also survived by her siblings, William and Jeanette Redd and Brenda Chesler. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Brandon Redd and Barbara Haynes. Friends are invited to celebrate Shirley’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, July 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1601 W. Mt. Harmony Rd., Owings, MD on Wednesday, July 3 at 12:30 pm. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Davidsonville, MD. Condolences may be made by using the Memories link on this page.
