Shirley L. Reppenhagen - Obituary

hirley L. Reppenhagen, 82, a 52-year resident of Annapolis and previously of St. Simons Island, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at her home. Shirley was born in Baltimore, MD on December 10, 1934 to the late Benjamin and Clara Wagner Fooksman. She began working at the Bay Ridge Inn in 1968 as a bookkeeper until it's closing. She was a charter member and past-president of the American Business Women Association, and was voted Women of the Year in 1983. Shirley’s interests included reading, going to yard sales, being a grandma and spending time at the beach in St. Simons Island, Georgia. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Fred Reppenhagen, Jr. and her sister, Miriam Mueller. She is survived by her sons; Michael Sondergard, Roy and Kevin Reppenhagen; one brother, Robert Fooksman, three grandchildren, Shane, Dustin Sondergard and Gidget Reppenhagen, and several great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Shirley's life on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 10am until 1:30pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032.
