hirley H. Smith Vinciguerra, 82, a resident of Clinton, MD for 52 years died on Thursday, December 14 at her home. Born in Rutherford, NC, Shirley worked for Senator Thomas V. Mike Miller and later worked at the Department of Defense, NAVAIR. She was active in the Clinton Boys and Girls Club and in her spare time enjoyed bowling, dining out and playing the piano. Most of all, she adored being with her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Ronald C. Smith. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, John J. Vinciguerra; her son, Kenny Smith of Waldorf, MD; her stepchildren, Gina Barrett, Lisa Williams, Mark and Paul Vinciguerra; her daughter-in- law, Phyllis Smith of Chesapeake, VA; her grandchildren, Matthew (Dawn) Smith of Chesapeake, VA, David Smith of San Francisco, CA, Valerie and Kelley Smith both of Baltimore, MD and two great granddaughters, Kennedy and Vivian Smith. Friends are invited to celebrate Shirley's life at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, December 19 from 1 PM until her memorial service begins at 2 PM.
