hirley Ann Sollers, 68, of Annapolis, died on May 6 at home surrounded by her family. Shirley attended Bates High School in Annapolis before becoming a long time cook for Shady Oak Inn in District Heights. She was a member of Sollers United Methodist Church in Lothian. In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed cooking, playing cards, playing softball, watching game shows and spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband who died in 1975, Charles Sylvester Sollers.
Shirley is survived by one son, Nathaniel Sollers of Annapolis; two brothers, Earl Griffin of Calvert County and Louis Griffin of Annapolis; four sisters, Catherine Parker of Annapolis, Rosa Griffin of Annapolis, Helen Abrims of Glen Burnie and Florine Griffin of Annapolis; one grandson, Romano Sollers of Brooklyn Park; three granddaughters, Debbie, Brenda and Denise Sollers, all of Annapolis; also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Shirley’s Life Celebration on Saturday, May 11, from 9am to 11am at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 11am. Interment LOV Moses Cemetery, Lothian.
