Sofia Mazacar (Coyoca) Coleman - Obituary

urrounded by her family, Sofia Macazar (Coyoca) Coleman passed away peacefully at the Walter Reed Medical Hospital in Bethesda, MD on January 5, 2023, at the beautiful age of 88. Sofia was born to the late Rosita and Gabriel Coyoca in the Philippines on August 22, 1934. Sofia met and later married her late loving husband, Robert Eugene Coleman, Sr. on May 22, 1967, in Angeles City, Philippines. They started a family then later moved to the United States where she studied cosmetology and started her career as a hair stylist. From the very beginning, she dedicated her life and love to God, her husband, children, extended family, and career. She was an active, dedicated and devout catholic. Sofia impacted the lives of many people with her unconditional love, unforgettable warm beautiful smile, and giant heart. Sofia had a compassionate and generous disposition, a passion to help anyone in need. She is dearly missed by her loved ones and friends, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator. Sofia is survived by her children Gale Elizabeth Duval (Fritz Gaetan Duval) and Robert Eugene Coleman, Jr.; sisters Leticia Coyoca Ashford and Marites Coyoca Elmore; brothers Clemente Macazar Coyoca and Manuel Macazar Coyoca; many nieces and nephews along with many grandnieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband of over 50 years; daughter Virginia Parker; sister Norma Coyoca Meracap; brothers Vicente Macazar Coyoca, Bonifacio Macazar Coyoca, Bonligar Macazar Coyoca, Gabriel Macazar Coyoca, Jr., and Claro Macazar Coyoca.
