Stacia Newman - Obituary

tacia Ann Wasson Newman, age 49, a 14 year resident of Tracys Landing, MD and formerly of Woodbridge, VA died on December 1, 2008 at her residence after a 3 ½ year battle with brain cancer. Stacie was born on July 20, 1959 in Saitama-Ken, Japan. She earned her A.A. Degree at Prince George's Community College and worked as a mortgage auditor in Bowie, MD. She was a member of Chesapeake Christian Fellowship in Davidsonville, MD and she enjoyed gardening, bowling, yoga, knitting and being with nice friends. Stacie raised her children to have a beautiful and kind spirit. She is survived by her husband, Mark Newman, whom she married on May 22, 1988; mother of Dallis and Avery Newman both of Tracys Landing, MD; sister of Robert Wasson of West Friendship, MD, Erick Wasson of Mechanicsville, VA, Tracia Adams of Merritt Island, FL, Kelly Castagna of Pensacola, FL, Kimberly Wasson of Valparaiso, FL Valerie Peters of Chesapeake Beach, MD; daughter of Bobbie R. and Joanne Wasson of Clinton, MD; Granddaugther of Orabelle Weston of Joplin, Missouri. Friends are invited to Stacie's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 10:00 AM at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship, 377 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Interment Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Cemetery, West River, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, MD 21401.
