S

tephen “Steve” Edward Angell, Sr., 69, of Milton, DE, and formerly of Edgewater and Davidsonville, MD, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2018, after a lengthy fight with pancreatic cancer, in Milton, DE. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Newton Angell and Mary Kibler Angell, and his brother, Robert Angell. He is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Joyce (Marcellus) Angell, daughter Shannon Shepherd (Tom) of Sykesville, MD; son, Stephen Angell, Jr. (Christina) of Bozeman, MT; three grandchildren, Brett and Joy Shepherd and Oliver Angell; his brother, Kenneth Angell (Donna) of Seaford, DE, and his twin sister, Sharon Higgs (Raymond) of Edgewater, MD; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Angell was born in Riverdale, MD, and moved with his family to Woodland Beach as a teen. He graduated Annapolis High School in 1967 and was a volunteer fireman in the Woodland Beach V.F.D. in the 1960s. Mr. Angell was in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He was President of abc Security Corporation in Edgewater, Maryland for 24 years. He served as Governor and Vice President of Corvette Annapolis in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He was a life-long hunter and fisherman, a classic car enthusiast and an expert woodworker. He also enjoyed restoring old items, such as jukeboxes, gas pumps, and soda machines. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Steve's life on Thursday, April 19 from 5 to 8 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, April 20 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
