Stephen Di Stefano - Obituary

tephen Di Stefano passed away July 16 at the age of 89 at his residence in Annapolis, Maryland. He was born January 6, 1921 in Casablanca, Morocco and moved to Tunis, Tunisia at an early age. He graduated from the Business and Accounting School at Vittorio Emmanuele College in Tunis. Mr. Di Stefano came to the United States in 1953 and was very proud of becoming a U.S. citizen. After spending 16 years with State Farm Insurance, where he advanced to the position of Data Processing Superintendent, Mr. Di Stefano worked as manager of District Network Operations at Computer Sciences Corporation for 3 years. He joined Bank of Virginia (now Wachovia Bank) in 1972 as Vice President and Cashier of their Northern Virginia Bank. After advancing to Senior Vice President, he transferred to the consolidated statewide bank in Richmond. During his career with Bank of Virginia, Mr. Di Stefano was responsible for Bank Operations, Operation Support, BVA Mortgage Servicing, CIS Operations, Collections and Recoveries, Compliance and Credit Services. He retired from Bank of Virginia in 1985. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 38 years, Reba; his son, Patrick, by a previous marriage; a sister, Santina Morelli and a brother, Francois Di Stefano, both residing in Nice, France; many nieces and nephews in Nice, Marseilles, and Paris, France; and many other family members and friends.
