S

teven P. Foote, 71, passed away July 7, 2015 in Annapolis, MD from complications of a stroke. He was born February 17, 1944 in Westfield, NY and was a WACS graduate, class of ’62. Steve held a BS in Political Science from Fredonia University and an MBA from the University of Baltimore. He was a recording artist for Columbia Pictures Records as a member of the Ivy Four and The Gatemen. He was an Army veteran, serving in Vietnam and Germany, rising to the rank of Captain. Early in his career, Steve was a bank controller and Trust Officer, and a lecturer in corporate finance and investment policy at the Hood College Graduate School of Business. He was a Director for Deloitte Consulting where he directed the firm’s consulting team for President Reagan’s Private Sector Survey on Cost Control (The Grace Commission). Subsequently he served as Senior Vice President and Board Director of the Sterling Institute. Steve left the Sterling Institute to form his own company, the Columbia Consulting Group. His company specialized in assisting organizations in developing and implementing strategic plans and enhancing management team performance. Steve had an international reputation as a Certified Management Consultant, conducting seminars worldwide. He was the pioneer in developing computer-based, industry-specific leadership and management learning simulations. These custom-developed simulations continue to be used by companies around the world. He has written extensively on leadership, management and organizational performance issues. Steve retired in 2013, spending winters in Annapolis and summers at his Chautauqua Lake, NY home. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Margaret (Kastner) Foote, and sister, Patricia Reed. Steve is survived by his loving companion and partner, Beth (Connelly) Patri; his sons, Jeffrey (Chrissy) Foote and Andrew Foote; and granddaughter, Anna Foote. He is also survived by his nephew, Jeffrey (Sandy) Reed; nieces, Kecia Reed and Cynthia (Sonny) Strickland and several cousins. He is further survived by his best friend, John MacKerron and lifelong friend, Kathy (Fauler) Freeman; his brother-in-law, Larry Reed; and former wives, Dee Dee DeyErmand and Sally Foote. In keeping with Steve’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Memorials in his name may be sent to the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center, 3675 Solomons Island Rd.
