Steven Michael Kernan - Obituary

teven Michael Kernan, 43, a resident of Edgewater, MD, passed away on March 27, 2022. Born on October 19, 1978 in Cheverly, MD to Janet and the late Patrick Kernan, Sr., Steve was raised in Edgewater and attended South River High School. He was a gifted automobile mechanic and worked for more than 20 years at Uni-Tech Collision Repair in Annapolis. While in high school, Steve met and fell in love with a fellow student, Kati Lescallett. They enjoyed an 8-year courtship before marrying in 2005. Together, they raised three children. Steve enjoyed working on cars but his family was his greatest passion; he treasured the time they spent together. In addition to his father, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Kernan, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Katherine “Kati” Kernan; his devoted mother, Janet Kernan; and three children whom he adored, Dennis, Christopher and Annabell. Friends are invited to celebrate Steve’s life with his family on Monday, April 4 from 10 a.m. until his funeral service begins at 12 noon at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Burial will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD. Condolences can be made by using the memories tab on the left.
