Steven Keith Prutting - Obituary

teven Keith Prutting of Shady Side, MD, and previously of Long Island, NY passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020. He was born the youngest son of the late Clarence and Gloria Prutting in Amityville, NY on November 28, 1954. Steve was a gifted woodworker who used his talents to create beautiful homes in such places as Fire Island, NY, and Gibson Island, MD. His attention to detail led him to become a site supervisor where he mentored others to develop their skills. Steve also enjoyed being outside hunting for deer, fishing, and working in his yard. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Prutting. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy Prutting; three children, Josef Hermann and his wife, April of Hampton Roads, VA, Steven, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of South Hampton, NY, and Caitlyn and her husband, Maxwell Anderson of Friendship, MD; brother, Kenneth and his wife, Anita of Stuart, VA; grandson, Hunter; and several other nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to celebrate Steve’s life on Saturday, October 3, 2020, from 12 pm until his funeral service begins at 1 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
