Steven Ellis Steinberg (Steve) was born in Baltimore, MD, where he grew up. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida, then returned to the mid-Atlantic region to study Physical Therapy at Howard University. Steve met his wife, Pamela, while working as a Physical Therapist in Maryland. When they married, Steve became stepfather to Pamela’s then-teenaged daughter, Liz.

In his work and at home, Steve dedicated himself to caring for others. He was a skilled therapist and healer whose mild-mannered sweetness was peppered with a sharp sense of humor and a fierce protective streak. He loved cats, music, home improvement shows, Italian rainbow cake, the "Puke and Snot" show at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, and showing off his encyclopedic knowledge of cars. Steve struggled with chronic illness for years without losing hope or verve. Up until the time when he could no longer live at home, he took great pride in making coffee for his wife every morning and fixing things around the house. Even in the final months of his illness, he looked for ways to support and connect with others.

Steve is survived by his wife, Pamela Sabatiuk, and their two cats, Fluffy and Joey; by his step-daughter, Liz, son-in-law, Ruben, and two grandchildren, Lorenzo and Rafael; and by his three siblings, Stuart Steinberg, Martin Steinberg, and Linda Snyder. May his memory be a blessing, and may he fly free.
