Steven Whitaker - Obituary

teven Donald Whitaker, a 15-year resident of Arnold, MD died on August 3, 2010 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born December 2, 1951 in East St. Louis, IL, to the late Charles and Norma Whitaker, he graduated from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA with a degree in history. Steven worked at the N.S.A. for 35 years. From 1970-74, Steven served in the United States Air Force. He was the beloved husband of Donna G. Whitaker, whom he married on November 3, 2007; father of Nathan and Sarah Whitaker of Pasadena, MD, Brian Johnson o f Upper Marlboro, MD, Melanie Ngo of Fairfax Station, VA and Angela Johnson o f Laurel, MD; brother of Keith Whitaker of Hampton, VA, Jeffrey Whitaker of Clovis, CA, Matthew Whitaker of Hampton, VA, Patricia Sorroche of Franklin, VA and the late Joel Whitaker and Leslie Lyons. He is also survived by one grandson, Anthony Johnson. Friends are invited to Steven’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Thursday, August 5 from 6pm to 8pm, where services will be held on Friday, August 6 at 12pm. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
