tewart Charles "Stu" Cole, 77, a resident of Riva for 30 years and previously of Gaithersburg, died of natural causes Jan. 4 at Futurecare Chesapeake in Arnold after a long illness.
Mr. Cole was born May 21, 1930, in Washington, D.C.
He worked as a communications supervisor for Western Electric for 28 years.
Mr. Cole served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing, and was an avid Redskins fan.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hennessey Cole of Harvest, Ala.; two sons, Scott E. Cole of Rockville and Craig N. Cole of Mechanicsville; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Cole and Elizabeth Russell; and five grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
