Susan Jane Carr - Obituary

usan Jane Carr, 76, a resident of Hurlock, MD and previously of Davidsonville, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023, after a brief illness. Jane was born on September 29th, 1946, in Prince George’s County (the youngest of 6 sisters) to the late Ernest and Susie Allen. Predeceased by her husband Charles Ralph Carr, she is survived by her four children Charles David Carr, Sherri Ann Hoffman, Christopher Allen Carr, and Joseph Benjamin Carr as well as her partner of 18 years Scott Wilson. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Jacob Laster, Meaghan Allan, Emily Carr, Wyatt Carr, and Henry Carr and 2 great grandchildren Sophia Moore and Ny’leeyah Moses and numerous nieces and nephews. Jane, an accomplished marathon shopper, loved to spend time at the beach soaking up the sun and people watching. After a long day at the beach, she would unwind by playing the slots and enjoying a nice meal. Perhaps her favorite thing to do was planning her annual crab feast where friends and family would gather to enjoy good company and good food. A fiercely loyal woman, she never missed the opportunity to brag about her family. Granny, as she was known by, was always ready for a sleep over with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and to send them home with bags of the trinkets that she would stockpile throughout the year. When she wasn’t spending time with her family she enjoyed traveling and working in her yard. Friends are invited to celebrate Susan’s life on Monday, June 12 from 1 pm until her memorial service begins at 3 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
