Susana L. Magnaye - Obituary

usana “Susan” Lumpas Magnaye, 83, a 29-year resident of Edgewater, Maryland and previously of Davidsonville, Maryland passed away on February 3, 2026 after a 1-year battle with cancer. Born on March 18, 1942 in Leyte, Philippines to the late Simplicio Lumpas and Maria Cinco, Susan graduated high school before establishing her career as a seamstress. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and in her spare time she enjoyed dancing and singing. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Leonardo Magnaye. She is survived by her children, Leonardo Magnaye, Jr. of Cainta, Rizal, Philippines and Diana Jungnitsch of Edgewater, Maryland; her sister, Nenita C. Lumpas of Manila, Philippines; her grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Jungnitsch, Ann-Jun, AldJay, Julie, Leslie-Ann, and MaryJune Magnaye, Mary Grace Vergabera, and Gay-Ann Moss; and 8 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Susan’s life on Wednesday, February 18 from 2 to 6 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, February 19 at 11 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville.
