Susanna Marie Rossano - Obituary

S

usanna Marie (Susan) Rossano of Marley Neck, Maryland passed peacefully on October 25, 2021. After a long, brave, and covert campaign against cancer, Susan spent her last days surrounded by loving family and dear friends at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Susan was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 20, 19?? and was the cleverest of five children of Thomas R. and Ruth C. Herman. A graduate of Wauwatosa East High School, Susan went on to study modeling, art, and design before completing her CAD certification. She resided in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia before moving to Kent Island and eventually Marley Neck (Glen Burnie) in Maryland. Susan's favorite accomplishments showcased her creativity and ever expanding skills. Susan filled many roles in retail, fashion, design and systems engineering, including a position with Lockheed Martin which put her in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, a harrowing experience she handled with grace. Susan’s Christmas cookies were the most anticipated event of the season for many. Her design and fashion sense was Chanel-esque. She added color and a style to her home through gardening, photography and her love of quirky antiques and collectibles. Susan was preceded in death by her father Thomas R. Herman and husband Mark J. Rossano. She is survived by her son Nicholas A. Tselentakis, mother Ruth C. Herman, and siblings Judith A. Busse, William J. Herman, Peter J. Herman, and Thomas M. Herman as well as her first husband Thomas Tselentakis. No service is planned. In lieu of gifts, please send donations to Second Chance Thrift in Baltimore or Johns Hopkins Medicine.
