Suzanne Cocimano, 88, a resident of Riva, MD for 41 years, died peacefully at her home on July 17, 2021, of cancer.  Suzanne was born April 10, 1933 to Francis and Esther Riley in Washington, DC.  She attended Wilson Teachers College, where she met her husband, Philip Cocimano.  They were married for 57 years before his death in 2010.  Suzanne was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family.  A talented floral designer, she also enjoyed creating stained glass artwork, gardening, animals, going to the movies and visiting her beach house in Fenwick Island, DE.  She was a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, MD and an active member of the South County Senior Center.
She is survived by her two daughters, Maureen Montgomery (Monte) of Annapolis, MD and Colleen White (Michael) of Chester, MD; six grandchildren, Erin Montgomery, Kirstin Shea, SSgt. Timothy Montgomery (Abigail), and Ryan, Philip, and Megan White; and four great-grandchildren, Ian & Kellan Shea and Mia & Cole Montgomery.
Friends are invited to a viewing from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville.  Interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AAMC Foundation, 2000 Medical Parkway, Belcher Pavilion, Ste. 604, Annapolis, MD 21401.  Please designate the gift to the Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute.
