Teresita Samoy - Obituary

eresita Samoy passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024. "Tessie", a retired registered nurse, lived a full life of 83 years working her way through nursing programs in Philadelphia and Chicago before taking permanent residence in the Washington DC area. Tessie and her husband, Abe Samoy, Sr. made Fort Washington their home and raised their three sons...her three musketeers. Tessie enjoyed her gardening, both indoors and out. Tessie was an active member of the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) and served several terms as their "greatest" treasurer. Tessie and Abe were active parishioners of St. Columba Church and members of various church organizations, especially the Spirit of the Living God Charismatic group. She loved the PNA and the St. Columba community and was happily involved in many fundraising events for the church and PNA. Tessie is survived by her three dynamic and charming sons, John, Den, and Stef along with Lee Ann, Vida, Emily, 10 grandkids (Amanda, Christian, Tyler, Brandon, Justin, Jessica, Michael, Stephanie, Ariana and Donovan), close family, extended family and friends. Tessie is now back in the loving care of her husband as they now begin their next lives together with their grandson Devan in their arms. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, May 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Road Oxon Hill, MD 20745. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, May 4th at 10:30 AM at St. Columba Catholic Church, 7800 Livingston Road Oxon Hill, MD 20745.
