Terry Lee Saari - Obituary

erry Lee Saari, 69, a longtime resident of Edgewater, MD, passed away at her home on April 21, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Anchorage, AK, on June 17, 1954, to the late Edward H. and Margaret V. Schmidt, Terry served as a restaurant manager for 35 years and later transitioned to a successful retail management career for eight years. Terry's love for life was evident in her many hobbies, including antiquing, baking, traveling, photography, music, and hosting holiday events. Above all, she cherished her time with family and her personal relationship with God. Terry is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Richard Saari. She was a devoted mother to five children, Davey Cook of Edgewater, MD, Michelle Rednagle of Sunderland, MD, Rebekah Catterton of Arnold, MD, Sarah Hesgard of Fleming Island, FL, and Emily Strickler of Crofton, MD. She was a beloved sister to James Schmidt and Peggy Allen, both of Grasonville, MD. Terry was also a proud grandmother to six grandchildren, Brayden and Easton Rednagle, Dustin 'DJ' and Dominic Hesgard, Camrin Catterton, and Jack Berger. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Terry's life on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 10 am until her funeral service begins at 11 am at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment will immediately follow the service at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD, and a party with food and drinks will be held at 2:30 pm at the family home.
