helma Jane Doyle, 78, of Davidsonville died Feb. 2 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mrs. Doyle was born Sept. 14, 1929, in Louisville, Ky., to the late Syothia and Curtis Miller. She graduated from Jefferson County High School.
Mrs. Doyle served as a Hospital Corps WAVE in the Navy. She met her husband while in the service.
She enjoyed ceramics, stamp collecting and crabbing with her best friend. She was an avid Terps and Ravens fan. She was an all-state tuba player in high school, and enjoyed all sports, particularly field hockey and swimming. Her passion, however, was her family.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Lorne E. Doyle; three sons, Stephen Edward Doyle of Tucson, Ariz., Kevin Michael Doyle of Dayton in Howard County, and Shawn Patrick Doyle of Towson; four daughters, Tricia Ann Marles of Turlock, Calif., Pamela Mary Harvey of Annapolis, Colleen Bridget Bollinger of Upperco in Carroll County and Mary Ann Ogburn of Crownsville; one brother Curtis Arnold Miller of Grants Pass, Ore.; 22 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may join in the celebration of her life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. A graveside service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
