Theodora L. Lavsa - Obituary

heodora Lorraine Lavsa, affectionately called “Gringa”, died on September 20, 2017 at the Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center. Gringa was 93 years old and had been a resident of Annapolis, MD for the past 27 years. Prior to living in Annapolis, she lived in Clinton, MD. Born on September 9, 1924 in Bloomington, MN, Gringa graduated high school and pursued a dual career as a wife and mother and a medical receptionist. In May 1945, she married Carl Lavsa, Sr. and together they raised two children. Gringa enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading and was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Gringa was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Carl, who died in 2006 and by her brother, LeRoy Ross. She is survived by her son, Carl Lavsa, Jr. of Port Republic, MD; her daughter, Valerie Fridley of Shady Side, MD; a grandson, Ross Lavsa; two granddaughters, Amy Abell and Stacey Rainbolt; and six great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Gringa’s life with her family on Friday, September 22 from 2 p.m. until her memorial service begins at 3 p.m.at the George P.
