heresa “Dutch†G. Fangmeyer, a 10-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Wheaton, MD died on August 11, 2009 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood, MD after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born April, 18, 1921 in Frederick, MD, she graduated from Frederick High School in 1938. She retired from Equitable Life Assurance Company after more than 30 years of service. She received the 2000 hour Volunteer Award for the Auxiliary at Anne Arundel Medical Center at the Clothes Box. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Crofton, MD. Her hobbies included bowling, the dining club at Heritage Harbour, boating, fishing, word search puzzles and volunteering at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. John K. Fangmeyer, whom died April 4, 1980; devoted mother of D. Gary (Sandi) Haupt of Estero, FL; stepmother of Nancy Turner of Glen Burnie, MD, Kay Atkinson of Rockville, MD and the late Jay Fangmeyer; sister of Bonnie May of Keedysville, MD, May Hahn of Frederick, MD and the late Velma Graham; she is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fangmeyer is predeceased by her first husband, Paul G. Haupt.
Friends are invited to Theresa's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, where services will be held on Monday, August 17 at 4pm. Interment Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 2pm. Guests are asked to please meet at the Administration Building at 1:30pm.
