Thomas Bissett - Obituary

homas D. Bissett, Sr., a 38-year resident of Edgewater, died on Saturday, June 29 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Born in Washington, D.C. to the late William and Georgia Bissett, Tom graduated from Western High School and served in the U.S. Army in France during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of American Legion Post 226 in Mayo, the Annapolis Moose Lodge 296 and the Annapolis Elks Lodge 622. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Bissett. He is survived by his children, Tom Bissett, Jr. of Abilene, TX, Beth Smith and Debbie Davis both of Edgewater; a brother, Bill Bissett of Southlake, TX; a sister, Linda McGowan of Allan Park, MI, nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Friends are invited to Tom’s Life Celebration from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, July 8 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where his funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 9. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
