T

homas Steuart Deacon, “T.D.,” “Karaoke Cowboy” 80, a 46-year resident of Odenton and formerly of Riverdale, passed away on Saturday, August 18th at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Tom was born on September 1, 1937, in Washington, D.C. to the late Wilfred and Marguerite Deacon. He was a graduate of Bladensburg High School in Riverdale, MD. After high school, he served his country in the United States Army. Tom worked in bookbinding and retired from Norwitz Bookbinding Co. in Washington, D.C. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville and a member of the American Legion Post 108 in Cheverly. His interests included listening to Country music and singing Karaoke. He was also an avid NASCAR and Washington Redskins fan. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Inge Deacon, who passed away in 2008. He is survived by his daughters; Barbara Buchanan and her husband Thomas of Odenton and Monika Lubonski and her husband James of Huntingtown, his siblings, Michael Deacon of Ames, Iowa and Eileen DiGirolamo of Daytona Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren; James, Gunther and Celine Lubonski, Brittany Moran and Paul and Rachel Buchanan. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tom's life on Tuesday, August 21 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, August 22 at 12 pm at Our Lady of the Fields, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville, MD 21108.
