Thomas Joseph Gerkin - Obituary

homas "TJ" Joseph Gerkin, an 11-year resident of Edgewater and former resident of Annapolis, MD died at Anne Arundel Medical on Thursday, October 6, 2016, following a 10 month battle with lung cancer. He was 54. Born on May 16, 1962, in Baltimore, MD to the late James B. Gerkin and Betty-Jean Westfall, he graduated from Old Mill Senior High School. T.J. served in the U.S. Army and was employed at Verizon for the past 17 years. He enjoyed Harley Davidsons, video games, reading, movies and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Karen Gerkin; a daughter, Sarah Gerkin of Edgewater, MD; a stepson, Adrian Gordon of Edgewater, MD; two siblings, James and Rhonda; a niece and a nephew, several aunts and uncles and two step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Monday, October 10, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. Interment private.
