Thomas D. Jocus - Obituary

homas Darcy Jocus Sr., 84, of Edgewater, MD, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at George Washington University Hospital. Thomas was born in Annapolis, Maryland, on June 28, 1938. He was an Air Force veteran of six years, and newly retired from his family upholstery business as of 2020. Thomas is survived by his wife, Helen Jocus; his three children, Thomas Jocus Jr. and wife Rachel, Jeannie Allen and husband David, and Brenda Stinchcomb and husband Doug; his five granddaughters, Jordan and Jaclyn Jocus, Brandy and Haley Stinchcomb, and Stephanie Dees; his one great-granddaughter, Harper King; his two nieces, Robin Blaire, and Lynne Sadler; and his five nephews. Thomas is preceded in death by his mother; Bertie Smith, father; John Jocus, and brother; John E. Jocus. Thomas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He enjoyed painting, sports, and working with his wife and son who are carrying out his legacy in the family business. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will forever be in our hearts. Those who would like to pay their respects to Thomas are welcomed to attend a gathering held on April 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater.
