Thomas John Kallis - Obituary

homas John “Tommy” Kallis, 62, a resident of Severna Park, MD for over 40 years and previously of Annapolis, MD died on September 15, 2008 at the University of Maryland Medical Center of pulmonary complications after a 6 month illness. Born February 3, 1946 in Annapolis, MD, he graduated from Severna Park High School. He worked as a superintendent of services for Highway & Safety Services, Inc. of Gaithersburg, MD for over 20 years. He was a member of Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. His hobbies included golfing, swimming, playing cards with friends and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He was the beloved husband of Lori J. Kallis, whom he married in 1986; father of Lisa Morgan of Easton, MD, John T. Kallis of Severna Park, MD and Patricia E. Kallis of Severna Park, MD; brother of Nick Kallis of Stevensville, MD, Elaine Vassos of Silver Spring, MD, George Kallis of Manhattan Beach, CA and the late Patricia Diamondidis; also survived by 4 grandchildren. Friends are invited to Tommy's Life Celebration on Thursday, September 18 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. A funeral service will held be on Friday, September 19 at 10am at Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD. Interment St. Demetrios Cemetery.
