Thomas Wade Mahaffey - Obituary

homas Wade Mahaffey, 59, a resident of Ft. Washington for over 30 years, died July 23 at his residence. He was born at Clark AFB in the Philippines on August 25, 1962 and grew up in Upper Marlboro. He worked for 25 years as an assisted living care provider at Bradford Oaks in Clinton. He also sold Avon products and was known to many as Mr. Avon. He was a longtime member of Bethany Christian Church in Ft. Washington. Thomas is survived by his brother, Chester “Chuck” Mahaffey (wife Gloria) of Davidsonville; and his nephews and niece, Brian (wife Rachel), Philip (wife Karina) and Bethany Mahaffey all of Edgewater. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Lee and Lillian Clara Mahaffey, and his sister, Paula Mahaffey. A memorial service to celebrate Thomas’s life will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 11 AM at Bethany Christian Church, 7128 Allentown Road, Ft. Washington, MD 20744.
