homas "Tom" Lee Pearson, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2015. Tom was born on October 20, 1948 in Cheverly, MD to the late Anna Virginia Pearson (Stevens) and the late John Franklin Pearson. He went to Annapolis High School where he played Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball and Baseball. In 1967 he went into the US Army via Selected Services where he served as a Private E-1. During his time served in the US Army, we was at Fort Riley, KS and eventually made his way to Germany. His employment career involved him working at the "old" Evening Capital, the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant on West Street in Annapolis and then became a well recognized driver/salesman for Campbell's Distributing Company in Annapolis which was the local home for National Premium Natty Boh beer. He also worked for Rainbow Dry Cleaners and Uniform Rental Company, Sam's Club, Owens Charter Bus Company and Annapolis Towne Transport/Annapolis Bus Company. While working at Annapolis Bus Company, Tom had the distinct honor of transporting former President Jimmy Carter and Mrs. Carter to the US Naval Academy Class of 1946 Reunion. From approximately 1989-1995 Tom was very active with the Annapolis Optimist Baseball Club coaching the Joe E. Brown and Mickey Mantel baseball teams. During that time he was heavily involved in the refurbishing of the Wiley H. Bates Baseball field and the current Annapolis Senior High baseball field. His many hobbies included restoring antique furniture and wood working, duckpin bowling, watching and coaching his two sons in baseball. He loved the Baltimore Colts, Orioles, Ravens and the University of Maryland Terrapins. Tom also enjoyed telling stories of his early adulthood days with muscle cars and street rods. Tom was preceded in death by his father, John Franklin Pearson, his step-mother, Zella Palmer Pearson as well as his mother, Anna Virginia Stevens, his brother Johnny Pearson and his son Timothy Lee Pearson. He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Geraldine, "Dee" Rill; two children, Tommy Pearson (Lucy) of Deale and Travis Pearson (Lindsay) of Edgewater; five grandchildren, Maggie and 'Ginny' Pearson of Deale and Devin Keller, Izzy and Cheyanne Pearson of Edgewater. He is also survived by two sisters, Cindy Lytle of Churchton and Marilyn Nickerson of Florida; his ex-wife Theresa Johnson of Lothian and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, March 6 from 4pm until a memorial service begins at 6pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgwater, MD.
