Thomas Richard Rice - Obituary

homas “Tom” Rice, 76, a lifelong resident of Maryland, passed away at his home on September 23, 2026 after a 2-year battle with brain cancer. Thomas was born on June 30, 1950 in Cumberland, Maryland to the late Louise Rice. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland before establishing a career as a certified public accountant. He ran his own business, Rice and Baldwin, before retiring. In his spare time, Thomas could be found golfing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Steve. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Christine; his children, Jeffrey and Jessica; and his grandchildren, Jake and Kaitlyn Thomas and Ryan and Reagan Rice. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Thomas’ life on Monday, September 28 from 4 to 7 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. They are then invited to join the family at 7:30 pm at Renditions Golf Course, 1380 Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD. Burial will be private.
