homas “Tom†Michael Schulz, 86, an 18 year resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis, MD and previously of Fairfield, CT died September 3, 2008 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood, MD of lung cancer after a lengthy illness. Born February 02, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Thomas H. Schulz and Margaret Lawler, he graduated from St. Augustine High School and from New York University with a Bachelors of Science degree in business and foreign trade. He was employed as an international executive sales manager for Remington electric shavers, then as a national sales manager of G.E. small appliance division and finally as president and founder of Fountain Products in Connecticut. He served in the United States Army in all 4 theatres of battle during WWII. He was a community advocate in Maryland as well as Bridgeport, Connecticut for Bridge House, Inc., which is a program to help the mentally ill. He was a member of the Masons Lodge, American Legion Post 7, Tom was very active at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, where he was also served as a Eucharistic minister and was an active community member of Heritage Harbour. His hobbies included travel, dance, tennis, golf, socializing with family & friends. He also loved his strong German & Irish heritage. Survivors include his wife, of 62 years, Audrey E. Schulz; his children Thomas Schulz, Jr of Wallingford, CT, Eileen Shalvoy of Southbury, CT, Jo Ann Wells of Severna Park, MD, Marilyn Glover of West Hartford, CT, Nancy Sedensky of Newtown, CT and Ann Marie Reardon of The Woodlands, TX; his sister Mary Malley of Rockaway Point, NY; also survived by 14 grandchildren. Friends are invited to Thomas' Life Celebration on Monday, September 8, 2008 from 4 to 6pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island, Edgewater, MD. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Tuesday, September 9 at 9:30am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401 or the American Cancer Society South Atlantic Division, Inc., Attn: Memorial Gifts, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
