Timothy Cox - Obituary

imothy Ernest "Tim" Cox, 50, a lifelong resident of Edgewater, MD, died on October 17, 2014 in Crownsville, MD following a tragic accident. Born in Annapolis on October 13, 1964 to the late William and Sally Cox, Tim worked for Mike Nichols of Tree World and was a well-known tree climber throughout the State of Maryland. In addition to his work, Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing softball, slot machines, poker and Keno. Most of all, Tim loved spending time with his grandchildren. Tim is survived by his son, Chris Marsellas of Frederick; daughter, Debbie Williams of Riva; four brothers, Mike Cox of Winchester, VA, Harvey Cox of Davidsonville, Rusty Cox of Ridgely, and Morris "Doots" Cox of Edgewater; one sister, Lisa Cox of Annapolis; three grandchildren, TJ, Shaelyn and Kali and a fourth granddaughter due in February; six nephews and nine nieces. Tim is also survived by his companion of 20 years, Jackie Dillon and her three children whom Tim loved and cared about as his own. Friends are invited to a memorial gathering from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 226, 380 Mayo Road, Edgewater. A service will be held during the gathering. Donations may be made to Tim's daughter, Debbie Williams, at 504 Tulip Road, Riva, MD 21140. Debbie will make sure it goes to his grandchildren, TJ, Kali and Shaelyn.
