The almighty God in His infinite wisdom, divine power and all presence being has called His daughter home. After an extended fight with illness, Trumilla Crews Foreman in her daughter’s arms rose from this life into eternal peace on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at her home in Fort Washington, Maryland. Trumilla, was born on November 4, 1953 to the late Norman “Nick” and Helen Crews in Oxford, NC. She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Crews & Sister Olivia Weathersbe, and daughter’s father Kevin Johnson. Trumilla, accepted Christ at an early age, and she attended various Churches in the community. Trumilla, attended and graduated from St. Augustine’s College, Raleigh, NC., In 1976. She moved to the DMV area in 1977, and began a career with The National Archives, retiring in 1998; She than began a second career as a Substitute Teacher with Prince George’s County Public Schools, until she was too ill to fulfill her duties. Lovingly known as “Tru”, she was very outgoing and elegant. She was known for her faithful service to local churches and organizations. Tru, admired and supported her daughters love for liturgical dance. And, for many years she was an active member of the International Training in Communications Org., (ITC). Her feet never stopped as she took to Hand and Line Dancing with the local Harmony Hall and other dancing groups that would travel across the East Coast. Tru, also spoke highly of the local Busy Bee’s Senior Citizens group at Grace United Methodist Church, where she would enjoy Bible Study, Luncheons, plays & trips with the group on Wednesdays. Along with these activities Tru, was fondly known for her volunteering with local food banks & later took piano and Spanish lessons with Prince George’s Community College with active Seniors Continued Education. She leaves to cherish in her memory her daughter Courtney (Lovely) and Son-In-Law (Eric Tomlinson). Four Brothers Leslie Crews (Dot) of Oxford, NC., Calvin Crews (Rebecca) of Kittrell, NC., Dexter Crews (Yvonne), of Kittrell, NC., and Shelton of Irvington, NJ., Along with two sisters Regina Crews of Ft. Wash., MD., and Alisa El-Hamalawi of Durham, NC; two Nephews and five Nieces along with great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and very close friends. Tru’s love for life, dancing, laughter, nature, adventure along with her competitive spirit, advocacy for discipline and education will forever be in our hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to Trumilla's Life Celebration on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Victory Chapel Sanctuary, 16401 Manning Road West, Accokeek, MD 20607 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in North Carolina at a later date privately.
