Una Mae McLean - Obituary

na Mae McLean, “Mickie”, 85, a 37-year resident of Annapolis passed away on June 26, 2013 at the Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center in Arlington, Virginia. She was born November 5, 1927, in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late George and Mary Blackwell, and attended school in Washington, D.C. Una Mae worked as a congressional assistant in the US House of Representatives, and retired from there after a 30 year career. She enjoyed planning reunions, genealogy and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence S. McLean, whom she married in 1952. Una Mae is survived by her daughters; Cynthia (Peter) Bartolomeo and Jennifer (Timothy) Carnahan, her grandchildren; Melissa Shaffier, Amanda Shafer, Louisa Hood, Carolyn Halley, Matthew Carnahan, and Margaret and Angela Bartolomeo and her great-grandchildren, Haley, Raelynn, Kellen, Presley and Kendall. A memorial service will be held at the chapel at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
