U

rsula Elizabeth Selinger a longtime resident of Crofton passed away peacefully in the arms of loved ones on Monday, November 8, 2021. Born on Feb 13, 1939 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Germany to the late Eugene and Eva Killet, Ursula immigrated to the United States in 1957. She and her husband, Karl, were the proud original proprietors of the Old Stein Inn in Edgewater, MD. Ursula was happy that she was able to bring some of her native German culture to America. Ursula loved gardening and traveling, she enjoyed many trips to her home country and the tropics. She and Karl lived in Lake Chapala, Mexico for ten years and loved it. Ursula was the beloved wife for 63 years of Karl Selinger; beloved mother of Patty Hammack and her husband, Skip and Michael Selinger and his wife, Beth; loving great-grandmother of Chandler Boyington and beloved grandmother “Oma” of Max, Bruno and Sam Selinger and the late Brittany Bowen. Friends are invited to celebrate Ursula’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, November 17 from 3 pm until her memorial service begins at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122. The nurses that took care of Ursula were angels in disguise.
