Vever Dolores Hack, 90, a 25-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Accokeek, MD, passed away on September 26, 2017. Born on July 24, 1927 in Washington, DC to the late Thomas Douglas and Bessie Jane Bowles, Dolores received a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Library Sciences degree from the University of Maryland. She enjoyed a rewarding career as a librarian for the Prince George’s County Board of Education. Dolores was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Annapolis. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge, knitting, gardening and volunteering with the Anne Arundel Medical Center Auxiliary where she knitted over 1,000 caps for newborns. Dolores was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Delta Gamma Fraternity and Friends of the Arts.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert J. Hack of 42 years. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Hack-Behringer (Karl) of Arnold, MD, Sally A. Hack (Chester DaBaldo) of McLean, VA and Susan L. Hack (Pamela Amidon) of Triangle, VA; and four grandchildren, Andrew and Lauren Behringer and Peter and Clare DaBaldo.
Dolores will be remembered at a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 8 at the Ginger Cove Friendship Hall, 4000 River Crescent Drive, Annapolis, MD 21401. Burial will be private.
