Vernon Wilde - Obituary

ernon Kennedy Wilde, "Whitey", a lifelong resident of Shady Side, MD passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, June 4, 2012. He was 86. Born June 24, 1925 in Shady Side, MD to the late Claud and Mabel Rogers Wilde, he graduated from Southern High School and was self-employed as a waterman and carpenter. Vernon served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Vernon enjoyed gardening and could fix anything. He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline Moore Wilde, who died on November 21, 1986; devoted father of William Wiggins of Sacramento, CA, Paul Wiggins, Jr. of CA, Barbara Miller of Bonaire, GA and the late Walter D. Wilde; brother of Frank W. Wilde of Shady Side, MD. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and friends. Service and interment private.
