incent “Jimmy†Scali, 85, a seven year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Springhill, FL died of natural causes on June 21, 2008.
Born November 7, 1922 in Calabria, Italy, he came to America when he was seventeen and finished his high school education in night school. He was a presser in Brooklyn, NY from 1942 to 1968 and moved to Maryland to start a concrete contractor company, which he had for 10 years. He then worked for Prince George's County Schools in the construction maintenance department. After retiring from the county schools, he then worked at Senate Office Building for five years until he retired again. He then moved to Florida, where he lived for 12 years. He loved to garden.
He was the beloved husband of the late Antoinette Scali, who he married in 1950 and she died in 1982; father of James (Jennifer) Scali of Chesapeake Beach, MD and Francine (Peter) Jablonski of Edgewater, MD; grandfather of Zachary Jablonski, Antoinette Jablonski, Dominic (Jana) Scali and Nicholas (Charlene) Scali; great grandfather of Dominic Michael Scali.
Friends are invited to Mr. Scali's Life Celebration on Friday, June 27 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, June 28 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater, MD. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
