irginia "Ginny" Vivian Cunningham, age 95, a resident of Annapolis, MD and Fenwick Island, DE and a former longtime resident of District Heights, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Born on March 22, 1924 in Alkol, WV to the late Ezra and Maude Vickers and raised in Sciotoville, OH, Ginny was a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps stationed at National Airport during World War II where she met her loving husband, Edward Joseph Cunningham who predeceased her in 1993. Ginny was a homemaker who loved her family. A woman of many talents, she was a seamstress, crocheter, artist, cook, bowler, card player, Nats and Redskins fan, CNN viewer, and beach lover. Ginny was the beloved mother of Michael (Margaret) Cunningham of North Port, FL, Patricia (David) Kimmel of Annapolis, MD, Lorraine (Shamus) Dunn of Hamilton, NJ, Denise Cunningham of Alexandria, VA, Edward (Linda Blankenship) Cunningham of Gaithersburg, MD and Walter (Nancy) Cunningham of Harwood, MD and sister of Gerald (Gary) Vickers. She was the adored “Gram” to 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and “Aunt Ginny” to many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to celebrate Virginia's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, March 13 from 5 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, MD on Saturday, March 14 at 9 am. Interment will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD on Monday, March 16 at 11:30 am.
