Virginia Dillard - Obituary

irginia Ann Dillard, age 85, a thirty-five year resident of Bowie, MD died suddenly of natural causes on Thursday, September 10 at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, MD. Virginia was born on June 3, 1924 in Atlanta, GA and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a former District Chairman of the Anne Arundel County Girl Scouts and was a member of the Eastern Star and the Bowie Women's Club. In her spare time she loved travelling, sewing, scrap booking and cooking. Virginia was the beloved wife of Douglas C. Dillard, (Colonel, US Army, Retired); mother of Cindy Alley of Bowie, MD, Lynne Dillard of Annapolis, MD, Cheryl Staurulakis and Michelle Resnick both of Riva, MD, she was also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Friends are invited to Virginia's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, September 16 from 2pm until funeral service begins at 4pm. Interment Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 14 at 10am (please gather at the Administration Bldg. at 9:30am).
