Virginia Greene - Obituary

irginia Weissbrod Greene, 92, a 20-year resident of Annapolis, MD and formerly of Clarksville, MD, died on December 18, 2009 in Annapolis of natural causes. Born on July 28, 1917 in Danielsville, PA, she was educated in the Washington, DC public schools, graduated from Dunbarton College and attended the University of Maryland for post-graduate studies. In 1937, she married Ralph Greene and together they lived in 12 countries and traveled to over 70 countries until his death in 1987. Virginia taught at international schools but was primarily a homemaker who was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all her family. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and active volunteer at Ginger Cove. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed reading and travel. Virginia is survived by three sons: Ralph Greene of Alburquerque, NM, Robert Greene of Eureka, MT and John Greene of Edgewater, MD; one sister, Dorothy Boland of Stevensville, MD; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
