Virginia Rolfes - Obituary

irginia Estelle Rolfes Virginia “Ginny” Estelle Rolfes, a 15 year resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis, MD and previously of Beltsville, MD died October 7, 2008 at her residence of natural causes. She was 87. Born May 22, 1921 in Washington, D.C., she graduated from Mt. Rainer High School in 1938. Virginia was a homemaker and a member of All Hallows' Episcopal Church in Edgewater and a former member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Mt. Rainier. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren, church activities, entertaining her family and friends, travel and jigsaw puzzles. Virginia was pre-deceased by her husband W. Warren Rolfes, who passed away on April 1, 1997 and whom she married on February 6, 1942. She is also survived by her sons Larry and his wife Rhonda Rolfes of Newark, DE, Lee and his wife Mary Rolfes of Shady Side, MD, her daughters Linda Rolfes of Germantown, MD, Leslie and her husband Tom Wendorf of Monrovia, MD and Laura and her husband Bryan Scott of Queenstown, MD. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Virginia's Life Celebration on Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd. Edgewater, MD 21037. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11 at 11:00 A.M. at All Hallows Chapel, 864 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to All Hallows Parish, P.O. Box 235 Davidsonville, MD 21035.
