Vonda Rhee Jay Eanes - Obituary

onda Jay Eanes, 68, of Stevensville, MD, and previously of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Roanoke, VA, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025. Born on August 22, 1957, in Harrisonburg, VA, Vonda was the daughter of Carroll E. and C. Delores Jay. She graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor’s degree and went to build a distinguished career as the Director of Compliance Policy for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Vonda lived a life filled with curiosity, dedication, and warmth. She was a proud member of various community groups, including the Queen Anne’s County Democratic Club. Her many interests brought her joy throughout her life. She loved to travel, play Mahjong, knit and crochet, and spend cherished time with her granddaughter, Ro Ro. Vonda is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Eric Eanes; Her sons, E. Joshua Eanes of Stevensville, MD and Jacob N. (Katie) Eanes of Annapolis, MD; her granddaughter Roisin Eanes, of Annapolis, MD; her brother, Jesse (Jennifer) Jay, of Bedford, VA; and her sister, Carol Kartanos (Dan) of Columbia, SC. Vonda’s memory will be held close by all who loved her and her legacy of kindness will continue to live on in those she leaves behind. All services for Vonda are private.
