Walter McArdle - Obituary

alter F. McArdle, Jr. “Mickey”, age 62, a resident of Riva, MD, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Anne Arundel Medical Center due to a stroke. Mickey was born in Washington, DC on September 7, 1947 and attended the University of MD in College Park, MD. For 20 years Mickey worked as a sales manager with Shady Oaks Yacht Sales and most recently he was the president of McArdle Yacht Group. During his career he won numerous awards as the top salesperson in the U.S. for Carver and Silverton Yachts. In his spare time he enjoyed boating, golfing, vacationing, spending time with his family and friends, singing and playing the piano. Mickey was the beloved husband of Bonnie L. McArdle; father of Terrence McArdle of Annapolis, MD and Julie Bast of Shady Side, MD; father in law of Emily McArdle of Annapolis, MD and Kenneth Bast of Shady Side, MD; brother of Patrick McArdle of Ocean City, MD, Peter McArdle of Odenton, MD, Sean McArdle of Vienna, VA, Christopher McArdle of VA and the late Terrence McArdle, Kathleen Spruill and Nancy Bluthardt; grandfather of Jonathan and Haley Bast, Riley and Caitlyn McArdle. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews that were near and dear to him. Friends are invited to Mickey's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, July 10 at 10:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davidsonville, MD. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, MD 21401.
