Walter Trittipoe - Obituary

alter T. Trittipoe, III of Shady Side, MD died on January 12, 2011 at his home. Born February 8, 1940 in Luray, VA, he was raised in Southeast Washington, DC and retired from Washington Gas Light Co. Walter served in the United States Army from 1961-63. He was a charter member of the Deale Elks lodge #2528, he was also a member of American Legion Post 226 and the Upper Marlboro Moose lodge #1856. Walter was a waterman, loved crabbing and the Chesapeake Bay. He was the beloved husband of Jeanette (Jay Bird); loving father of Catherine Trittipoe of the Eastern Shore, MD; stepfather of Wendy M. Chandler of Annapolis, MD and Charles P. Kane of Edgewater, MD. Also survived by eight grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Walter's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas funeral home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm, where services will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 11am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
