W

arren Irving Turner, Sr., “Bunk”, 89, a sixty three year resident of Tracy’s Landing, died on Monday May 5 in Harwood. Born on May 5, 1925 in Harwood to the late Herman Turner, Sr. and Edna Turner, Bunk worked as a carpenter with Union Local #132 for most of his life. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Lothian and the Knights of the Pythias. Bunk enjoyed gardening, fishing, crabbing, football, especially the Redskins, NASCAR and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Virginia C. Turner and his daughter, Linda C. Tucker. He is survived by his children, Warren Irving Turner, Jr. of Tracy’s Landing, Gloria Barkalow of Harwood and Joyce Lester of Edgewater; three brothers, John Turner of The Villages, FL, Thomas Turner of Harwood and Kenneth Turner of Greensboro; three sister, Barbara J. Kappas of Sun City, AZ, Elaine “Ann” Mullin of Jessup and Marie Turner Waller of Hurt, VA, also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Bunk’s Life Celebration from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm on Thursday, May 8 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater where his funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 9. Interment will be at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122 or the charity of one’s choice. An online guestbook is available
