Wendy Lou Smith - Obituary

endy Lou Smith, 59, of Lothian, MD, passed away August 12, 2019. Born on February 15,1960 to Nancy Lou and the late Enoch Lane, Wendy was a lifelong resident of South County. After graduating from high school, she went to work for Eastern Petroleum where she advanced to become a dispatch manager. Wendy later switched careers and joined family-owned Lane Bus Service, serving as its vice president. She was a member of the Transportation Association of Maryland. Wendy was also a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she worshipped and served in many ministries over the course of her life. She also enjoyed camping and putting her toes through the sand at the beach. Most of all, Wendy loved spending time with her husband and sons. In addition to her mother, Wendy is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Harry Smith; two sons, Adam (Nicole) Smith of Harwood, MD and Travis Smith of Lothian, one brother, Enoch Lane of Harwood, MD and sister, Darlene Riddle of West Virginia. Wendy’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16 at Mt. Zion UMC, 122 Bayard Road, Lothian, MD 20711. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Zion UMC to financially support the efforts of either the Children’s Winter Coat Drive or the Breakfast Club.
